Samsung Galaxy Tab price rumors

Samsung's upcoming tablet, called the Galaxy Tab (warning: idiotic site with music and Flash, turn your speakers down), is said to be the closest thing to a competitor for Apple's iPad. It will be a 7 inch tablet sporting Android 2.2 with lots of useful features. But now prices have started to leak out and while it's only rumors for the time being, things are not looking good.

Most websites mention the same figures - around €699 (or about $900) for the most basic, 16 GB model with 3G (there probably won't be a WiFi-only version). To put it differently - that's about €80 more than the 16 GB 3G iPad (and a whole €200 more than the 16 GB WiFi-only iPad which I bought). I'm sure there are tons of people willing to pay more for a product with a smaller screen, a much buggier OS and far fewer available apps. Not to mention that Android apps can only be bought in 14 countries (compared to 95 for Apple's App store).

Yup, definitely an iPad killer.
